September 15, 2019A 4-year-old toddler from Khadia village of Rudraprayag district, Abhishek was not able to lead a normal life due to defacement, which impacted his mind to stay off from children of his age or play with them in his village.
The area above his upper lip was disfigured due to which his parents had to face slurs in his neighbourhood.
Face upliftment surgery
In present, is still unaffordable for even a middle-class citizen living in urban area of India. However, when a team of Youth Foundation came to know about Abhishek, it used its network to outreach his parents and discuss for further treatment.
In a few days’ time, Youth Foundation reached Abhishek’s village and after understanding the situation, the team took Abhishek and his parents for a face upliftment surgery, all the costs and transit expenses were borne were the organisation. The operation was successful!
After taking treatment and medications, Abhishek was discharged from the hospital and he retuned to his village in Rudraprayag. With a new face, full of life!!
Abhishek’s family thanked Youth Foundation for their efforts.
